On August 16, 2023, a really unique virtual hiring event happened thanks to an incredible collaboration between Truist and HBCU Connect. The event wasn't just about recruitment; it was about embracing open hearts, big dreams, and innovative thinking, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to learn about Truist and its diverse career opportunities.
The turnout was just excellent. The event, which had a target attendance of 30 candidates, received an overwhelmingly positive response, with over 642 interested individuals, 456 confirmed participants, and a max concurrent of 136 attendees on the call.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Will Moss, HBCU Connect's CEO, who introduced the dynamic partnership between HBCU Connect and Truist. Then, it was Tajuan Mills, a Winston-Salem State University grad's turn to delve into what Truist represents, its values, and company culture.
The fascinating panel discussion with members of the Truist team, including Lashea, Hanasi, Brian, Cort, Allahna, Kaurice, and Katina, was the event's highlight. Attendees had the privilege of hearing about their experiences and opportunities while actively engaging with them, gaining deeper insights into the inclusive and diverse culture at Truist.
The event brought multiple benefits to all attendees. HBCU students and grads had a great chance to learn more about Truist and its potential at the event, and in the same way, Truist also had a fantastic opportunity to network with possible applicants from HBCUs. The event's attendance thrilled us, and we are grateful for all the positive feedback we got from attendees. We're excited to continue working with Truist to connect HBCU talent with great opportunities.
