Job Overview: We manufacture Relays and Switches for the Aerospace industry! TE Connectivity is seeking candidates for an Assembly Operator I on our Rugged Fiber Optics team at our Fairview, NC facility. TE Connectivity's Assembly Teams may operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. The Assembly Operator I is responsible for component assembly. This role may require use of microscope, small hand tools, and fitting components into fixtures. Use of work instructions is also required. The ideal candidate works well in teams, has the desire to learn, possesses strong hand eye coordination, and maintains the attention to detail needed to make quality parts for our customers. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Polish and test fiber optic cables.
Assemble and package fiber optic connector components.
Terminate single and multi-fiber cables.
Inspect own work using quality standards and work instructions.
Conduct tests as needed for particular operations.
Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.
Inspect product to print.
Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product.
May troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment.
General housekeeping of work area.
Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.
Follow safety guidelines.
Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
Read and perform tasks according to drawings.
Recognize common fiber connectors.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly.
