Navigating the STEM field can be difficult; especially if you
are first generation, do not have professional connections,
and/or unaware of career opportunities. The STEM Hub for
Industry Networking and Exchange (S.H.I.N.E.) aims to
diversify, build, and prepare the future talent pool of S.T.E.M.
professionals. To do so, students from ethnic and racial
minority groups are provided the tools to combat barriers of
entry into biotech and pharmaceutical careers primarily
through 1:1 virtual mentoring.

2. Industry Knowledge
Students are paired 1:1 with a mentor to work on
personalized career goals.
In addition to their mentoring sessions, students attend
industry-led seminars to learn and network from companies
outside of the one their mentor is employed at.
3. Professional Development
Through mentoring, students are able to develop and
improve numerous skills like networking, interviewing, and
resume development.
